Today is just amazing...
First off,I woke up quite late today, bout 11am... yeah, and I went to the living room, and then I saw this vcd on the com table. It was a mini movie version of jesus life... Well, if I'm not wrong, I recieved it lik 2 years ago (another story), and I thought it was very well lost in the house, or being dumped somewhere... Yep, it appeared at the com table in my hse.. Anyway, I then decided to watch it, which is like really weird looking at the time that if I don start getting ready, I be late for my afternoon class... Oh well.
Yeah, just as the show just getting started, my mum came and suddenly say that she heard jesus story when she was young, and she wants to tell me the story of jesus! haha, I mean, she being a devoted buddist, was really weird doing this... Anyway, I say sure, tell me bout it... Her version of jesus story : " there was this man with this very big boat, and there are alot of animals inside, and there was flood, then jesus came and save them by parting the sea" The end... hahahaha, I just couldn't stop giggling~~ cos all 3 stories are jumbled up! moses, noah and jesus!
And yeah, of cos I had to explain to her the mix up... And then she just came and sat with me to watch the jesus vcd!! I mean, this is really amazing, looking at the facts that the film was quite old, so the shooting techiques and effect were quite lousy, don think non christians would actually go and watch that... anyway, that's besides the point... The point is my mum actually cried watching the show!! And it was only the beginning whereby jesus was healing people and reviving the dead, it has not even reached the stage of betrayal or cruxification~ how amazing is that? and yep, she continues asking me what is actually happening cos she don know much english, so I have to translate... And yep, she finished the entire show!!
Praise the Lord! A great start for my mum to know more about christianity... Thinking back... I felt really amazed and abit frightened, I mean, who knows something you recieved years back could suddenly appeared and would be part of a strategy planned by God to get your unsaved love ones to know him more? haha, God really is a great strategist, like what this 2 weeks the words being said, God will have the best arrangements for us =p

I am organizing a Sports Outreach trip to KL, Malaysia, connecting

i just wanted to share more about my week before i fly off this weekend. i've been praying that i will encounter God in a new way this week after pastor melvyn mak's sermon. for me, i had to take the first move to be nearer to God! i went for a council cell group meeting today. even though the turnout rate was extremely little, i was glad i went because i got to hear thanksgivings and testimonies from my fellow christian councillors!

even though i had nothing to say, i could sense God drawing me closer to Him and telling me to come back to Him! on top of that, there was this supernatural feeling of peace during the short worship session.

as i took a bath today, i started to sing matthew 5.16 for no rhyme or reason and i felt prompted to flip open the bible. i closed my eyes and i saw a page of my bible with a certain bookmark wedged in between the two pages. i decided to act on obedience and took my bible. the moment i opened it, it flipped to the page i envisioned earlier in my mind, with the exact same bookmark facing me. and on the page it said:

matthew 5:16- let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven

definitely not a coincidence! i hope to bring my vice pres to church!! help pray for me as i do this!!

haha, it's been a long time since there's a new entry... yep yep.... jus want to shout out praises to God... Cos he sooooo faithful lah~~ yeah want to thank God for everything he has arranged....
cos made promise to him saying whatever decisions i make i will pray, i have faith in him for leading mi to the right choice.... wahahaha.... even taking buses and buying cosmetics ~~~ =p yep till now I m vvvv happy with the choices ~

just wanna share wad God had done fer me when I, literally, cried out fer help.

it was last wed....
i realised that my laptop lcd screen ws cracked!
the worse thing was that i had to pay $655 jus to get it repaired bcos the warranty does not cover. -________________- "
$655!!! where to get the money?!
and i was quite sure that i dint have any insurance.
i felt soooo.... =(
wa making plans to buy new lappie...
just when i was reminded to pray!

Thank God!
He answered me! -even though i haben been listening & toking to him..
When i reched home, my mum said dat i had insurance!
*yayness!
and i mite not need pay a cent
or at least 100-200+ bucks...

God has surprised me again with His faithfulness!

just when i thought my life was going haywire, things start falling in place again. i guess for the past few weeks i've been having this feeling like i'm falling far from God and just being under a lot of pressures and tests on my level of committment to the Lord. i read daily bread today and it said that sometimes we're going through bouts of spiritual darkness and sometimes instead of fighting it, we should instead leave it all to the Lord and just be cradled like an infant.

and cradled i was. through all the dark moments the Lord has been lifting me up and out of it. just that i've been too defeated to realise how good the Lord is. i've been praying for changes in the spiritual atmosphere at home and the bonding between my family members (which isn't THAT cheery though)... GUESS WHAT?

the Lord broke an unholy relationship up... between my sister and a non-believer! she actually spent the night in my mom's room talking to my mom! praise the Lord! He really does hear me! :D

it's given me this glimmer of hope... and i will press on in prayer and move on in faith.

this year's 40-day period is the most relevant and significant in my decade of christian walk. bonded believers of the faith unite every lunch(fast it) to read the prayer guide, share and commune. the whole class knows about this gathering, even the unsaved are aware and impressed by our sincerity and daily commitment. they're prolly surprised; we're sacrificing our time and effort even though it's the big A's and prelims are closing in, work is pressing, but yet we're selflessly saying prayers of blessing for the general good. we've been petitioning timelessly for the salvation of a101, and undoubtedly i would say the atmosphere in the class has opened up. they are pleasantly receptive to our relationship with our Lord. this week, we started passing this sheet of paper for our classmates to write down their prayer requests. at first we were thinking not many people will pen down, coz of the obvious discomfort of someone beseeching their God to interceed for you, and the rejection by the staunch buddhists and atheists. but lo and behold God opens the heavens and gates, the full a4 paper was completely filled with filed requests by all individuals! even the malay and indian girl in my class eagerly listed down their share. God is awesome in his God knows ways. so we're enthusistically praying that our Father will answer every one of them, specifically, so that they will know that He is King.

a miracle happened today. i got up as usual, caught the first of three buses i take to school regularly. however the bus was a snail, so i barely missed the second bus which was a mere two stops ahead(that chain of buses gets me to school on the dot!) i declared immediately in my head, "God please don't let me be late for school!" then became more ardent, "Lord, you WILL get me to school on time." 5 mins later, i fell into a dilemma. should i take a cab? i see a bus coming.. still brazen, i repeated, "God you WILL let a bus come now that will reach school on time." no it wasn't 58. another bus is coming! nope not 58. gawd bus come NOW. nep still nort my bus. at 7:20 am, i was thinking of hailing a taxi already(to reach school on time, 7:20 is the final lapse to cab down to school). while waiting for one, my boldness soared again, "Jesus i know you will get me to school on time. i will not be late." under his hand, no taxi passed(previously there are many in this stretch of road in the heartlands). at 7:23, when school starts at 7:30 am, bus 58 came. honestly, i had no idea if i would make it or not. i was just nonchalent. down bedok reservoir to pasir ris... nearly 15 mins elapsed, i'm technically late. got off 58 and the third sequence of bus was directly behind it! boarded 109.. two stops later alighted at merdian junior college bus stop. gulp. no huge group of students lining up at the side gate(typically if the group of latecomers is large enough to boycott, the teacher would let us all in). with no clue still to my arrival status, i crossed the road and entered the gate... "meridians please hurry to your class!", the j1 counsellor squalls into my ear. amagadd it can't be? ! nono what really? i'm not going to be booked? i have free access? i don't need to sing the national anthem and take the pledge and the late form? woohooo! i danced to class and what a testimony i gave. i love mini miracles. God is good all the time!

A call to prayer!

Dear Family,

This is a call to pray for our Nation 24hours a day for a year. With
the unity movement of the churches in Singapore (LOVE Singapore), 52
churches will be praying forming the chain over 52 weeks starting from 1st
July 2006 to 30 June 2007.

FCBC has chosen 23rd to 30th July which is a very significant week for
us. It will launch our Gateway Cities Youth Convention (GCYC) on 30th
July and also launch our Take The City Walk on 29th July. We will walk
and claim the city for God.

Our network has been given the timing on Sunday 30th July from 0000 to
0700 hrs. Mad and our cell is allocated one hour so our time will be
from 0600 to 0700 hrs.

This is the breakdown:

0600-0610 : Joy and Deborah Hendricks ,Priscilla,
0610-0620: Winnie and Karen, Charmaine
0620-0630: Caroline and Joyce , Phobe , Pamela

breaking fast

hey gals, i am breaking fast right now because i wanted to do this to tell you how good the Lord is! right now i have to admit i am going through a period of spiritual dryness and i'm gradually feeling the distance from the Lord- but still He loves me and listens to me!

i actually bought planet shakers' tickets for the saturday night show. feeling really happy about it, i got to school the next day only to realise that the council vacation will be from the 8 or 9th of august to the 12th! which means i have to totally skip the vacation or the concert! i didn't want to let go of either because i desperately wanted to seek God and bring friends to church yet i wanted to bond with my fellow councilors. so at night, when i reached home, i prayed a very simple prayer:"Lord, please let me be able to go for both events- whatever Your Will is, may it be done"

today, i bumped into the councilor in charge of the event, carene. she told me that the trip was cancelled as they could not get my principal, mrs chan to approve of it! hallelujah! not that i didn't want to go and of course it is sad that the Lord didn't will us to go to pangkor island, but the Lord has certainly heard my prayer and made a way not only for me to go, but for me to also invite one of my good friends (who is also in council) and is catholic to church! hallelujah!

indeed the Lord hears us and from now on i know that even the slightest prayer i pray will be heard and answered in His time.

never give up and persevere! and the Lord will provide in His time! Amen!

hola thanks for all your prayers, i've finally ended my exam season. yahoo! 7 papers X 3 hours = 1260 minutes of examination and 6 wild nights. not inclusive of general paper, that took place before the hols. but feeling awfully fulfilled and fruitful this season. :)) ty! yea my last two papers were held yesterday, and i was straining during math and lit, some of my classmates couldn't take it and they slumped(someone even slept for one hour during the lit paper!) hahaha by thy mercy and by thy grace i made it through the 3hourpaper+2hourlunch/break+3hourpaper schedule. gruelling 8 - slorgg. then woohoo! i had a day off today, coz others were having their final physics and MTA papers. went riding with my class to tanjong rhu(SIS bridge) followed by town. forgot my SPF 15 so now i'm cooked. lobster face. poof. aight, tataloo. date on saturday.

How was miracle catch for everyone? Do note that livingsone will be holding a assimilation party & youth day celebration this coming Saturday (1st July) at TCT,Magicbox.The whole thing will start at 7pm but be present with your frens by 6.45pm.Makan own dinner before coming ya.This meeting is for the new converts who accepted Christ during the Miracle Catch service.It is also for those people who couldn't make it for the service or those who came but didn't receive Christ.Do take effort to invite your friends for this event esp for the new converts.We will try to end the whole program hopefully by 9pm so that all of you can break up into your own cell group after that.Snacks (not food) & drinks will be provided during the event.We'll update you all when we hear more of the solid programs :)

1) No physical defects --> Good health. U got to stay fit. Serving the Lord is physcially demanding. Keep fit! Watch your diet.
2) Handsome. - Look the best that you can for His glory. People size each other up.55% of impression is based on appearance. Personal grooming is vital. Your posture, the way you dress, u walk, hygiene etc.
3) Showing aptitude for every kind of learning , well-informed - Hey, you should excel in your school. Well-educated. Well-read. Work hard.
4) Qualified to serve in the king's palace - Attiude! He has the ability and humility to serve the most wicked king. God wants us not only to serve in the church, but the ability and humility to serve in the mkt place.
5) he teach the language of the babylonians - Daniel understood the language of the world. The culture, the style... Be relevant to the people in the world. Learn to speak the language of those you are trying to impact.
Eg. Can you share the gospel in a way a doctor can understand. etc etc. Be updated!

The world will be amazed by our wisdom in practical living...

About the CompetitionEver since the Big Move to Expo, Livingstones members haven't had the chance to worship together unified under the colours of one T-shirt. 1. The material of the T-shirt will be dry-fit and not cotton.

4. The design should not be too complicated. Keep in mind that this is a dry-fit tee and they have a particular "look" already.
5. Due to cost limitations, only 2 colours should be used for the design.

a weird day (testimony)

Today something strange happened...
First off, today I was playing bball with Fizah and then we decided to go buy drinks from the nearby stall...
I suggest we put our bags at the side of the court thinking that there are people around and that we could see our bags from where we sat...
Guess what? After buying drinks and turning back to where our bags were, Fizah's bag went missing... And we just went off for just few minutes~~~
So we run high and low (in a cc) for the culprit, shouldn't have went far, bcos it was only a few minutes...
Went to report to the office and viewed the CCTV, nope, cant see anything from the angle where we place our bag...
And I was feeling majorly guilty and worried, cos Fizah is having upcoming tests after school reopens and all her lecture notes were in the bag !!
We went to search high and low again, I was praying in my heart that, God just pls help me get the notes and books back... It was quite important... (wallet was with Fizah)
haha, guess what again?
While we were sitting down after searching, discussing what to do nxt, this guy on a bike suspiciously came (staring at me, and i stared back) and went off... And then Fizah and I went over to the spot... Uh Huh~~ Her bag was there~~~~ but he left a weird note sayin she is a good girl and truly sorry cant return her hp.... Which is like -.-''
Anyway, she gotten her notes and books back~~ Phew... As for the phone, well, it wasn't much of a loss, cos it was a prepaid card, near 0 cents (from the calling and smsing to me for meeting at the court), the phone was vvvvv old... And guess what again again? My dad found the phone that I previously lost in his car, and so Fizah could at least have a spare phone till she could afford another one...
well the only down thing was that, the CCTV didnt catch the guy on the bike face... But all in all, thank God , Amen! for getting back fizah's more impt stuff, her bag of books and notes (having A lvl this yr) and a spare phone to keep =)

tiny prayers

The LORD is really answers to every little prayer you make! This afternoon I need to go to newton at 1pm but outside started pouring like its not going to end. . . As I was closing the window, I made a little prayer - 'Lord pls stop the rain when I leave the house, I dont want to get wet Amen.' Then I spent the next hr in my room. 1 pm came, and wat do you know?! the rain stopped! and the road was almost all dried up! haha. . btw this is not the first time I prayed, and it is always answered... I always think its SO cool. . .

No matter how Busy God is, he will always make time for each and everyone of us.. that is how much attention he has given us... but how much attention have we given him.. I think this is something I am still learning to do..

Hey guys!

Just thought i'd share about my day. When i left home for the worship seminar, a series of events happened to me that made me want to just go back home. I was late because of some miscommunications at home, couldn't get a taxi, my friends didn't reserve seats for me, my phone was running out of batt, i forgot to bring my notes and i forgot my ticket. I thought it was a bad idea for me to even step out of my home, and i was on the verge of blowing up when i happened to glance out of the taxi window and saw a truck drive past with the license plate '7777'. This is the first time i ever saw it without praying for it or looking out for it! Haha cuz i usually see it when i ask God to show me that He's there for me or when I'm asking Him for directions, and even then, I always see 7717, etc. That made the encounter extra special for me, because then I felt an indescribable peace fill me and I was assured of God's presence in my life. God then told me, "I am here with you, and I'm in control of every situation. Don't worry"

After that, everything just worked out fine. I was let into the seminar without a ticket, cuz just at the time i reached there, they had opened up the place to people without tickets (looks like God had a purpose in me being late), a guy gave up his seat so my friends and i could all sit together, they gave out extra notes and my phone's battery lasted till i reached home after the seminar. Looks like God IS sovereign and He does work everything out for our good.

So guys, let's just trust in Him no matter what our situation may be alright? And remember that God is here with you and that He is in control of every situation. So sit back, and let Him straighten things out =)

Btw, i'm feeling unhappy now. Some things happened at work, which affected the morale of the staff, and just can't understand why my uncle has to be so revengeful... But I'm praying that my Lord's will be done. That the right army will stay with me to fight this battle. If God is for me, who can be against me?

An interesting day!

Last night as I was doing my daily blog surfing I accessed my good friend cum classmate's blog. She was talking about how the world would end today, you know, the 6th day of the 6th month of 2006. Hmm, then it really got me thinking- if it were so, did I really live my life to it's fullest? However, I know my time is not up and I don't feel that I have fulfilled God's intended purpose for me- I didn't even find His purpose for me yet! And assuming if it were true... it would be a short and unfulfilled life indeed.

So I was sad, not only because my life seemed blurry so far, but also because the date today is biblically satanic.

I have to admit I was a little over cautious today, also thinking that some cult in some distant land is doing a demonic ritual to destroy the earth. However, as I was surrying about with my little activities throughout the course of the day, I spotted this!

It's kinda blurry, but it's 7770 on the number plate. (I remember what Mad said, even though it's not quite the same as her 7777 one)

I swear I stopped in my tracks and smiled a really goofy and big smile like this :D I honestly never expected God to speak to me like this... ever. It's good to know that God is really with us and He is our comforter. Ultimately there is nothing to fear because it will be God's Will.

Emmanuel... Our God is with us...

God can REALLY turn days around right? (:

Back from Family Camp

haha, this is my first entry, hope I got it right... hee... I attended a family camp in Malaysia organised by Faith City Church. Learnt alot of things... Hope to share some sentences shared by the Pastors there...

Serving the Lord

" Welcome to FCBC! God bless you!" *waves vigorously*

Today was my 1st day serving in the hospitality team. It was a definately a great experience! ;]

Week after week we see the distinctive uniform of the hospitality team warmly welcoming us to church. Very often we'll be too busy talking and walking past them as though they don't exist. What we do not know is that, our very own brothers and sisters in Christ are suffering under the blazing hot sun, wearing the not-so-attractive uniform and consistently putting a smile and picking up their courage to shout their lungs out to greet us.

After today's service, I finally understood how it was like to be serving in the hospitality team. For a moment, I thought I was in the sea or something. That's because the vest and the cap had a fishy smell. I was assigned to do tithes and offerings inside the hall. Before that we had to give our bulletins just before the service starts. It took a while for me to give out the bulletins and greet the people because I had to mentally console myself that I look fine. hur hur.

During service, I couldn't hide myself by sitting behind! I've gotta to endure wearing the vest and cap sitting in the sector that I was assigned to, that is, sitting with the people. Thankfully I was able to listen to what pastor had preached. ( i got use to the smell by then already)

After service, we had to gather at the back and bid farewell to the people. It was only then that I realised how much a smile, nod, or even words of blessing brings warmth and delight to my heart. It proves to show that I'm acknowledged and not simply regarded as just an escort. Most of them that acknowledged back were mostly adults. The youths were probably thinking that its so 'uncool' or unnecessary to return a smile or nod. I could see myself in them. I realised it was unfriendly for me to treat my brothers and sisters in Christ so coldly.

"What matters is the Lord that sees you serving Him, and not how you look" Those were the words( somewhere along that line ah.couldn't rem it exactly :P) that Karen mentioned during the cell about serving the Lord in the hospi team. I look good... in the eyes of the Lord!!

Hope this encourages u to make an effort to acknowledge those people that are doing their duty and appreciate them..not only in hospi..and maybe..volunteering yourself to serve the Lord in the hospi team ...and join rest of the girls and me:D

Back from ShangHai

Hey all
I'm back from my 6 days trip to Shang Hai. Went with Stan,his sis, my mum.. to visit Stan's parents. And we stayed with them. It was fun. Something really significant happened. We had a family cell. The 'younger generation' planned a Mandarin worship session. In the midst, we prayed for the 'older generation'. And they prayed for us. It was really powerful and I was touched when I realised how much God has blessed the Lau family.... and of course, myself. Most importantly, my mum (thou standing out of the circle), was drawn to the living room, and witnessed 15mins of our worship and prayer. I believe God was tugging her heart. I'm praying that God's work will continue in her life... and my dad's.

oh... we did lots of shopping. Bought some stuff for you all. It was a fulfilling trip. And I realised that I missed his parents. :)

We ALL understand this to be the fulfillment of the Great Commission entrusted to the Church. Matt 28:18-20

We ALL recognize that there's a close correlation between the prayers of the Church and the end-time harvest. Rev 5:8-10

I did as Mad told me to and made a blog for our cell group! Yay (: I hope this blog will serve as an avenue for all of us to give thanks, make prayer requests or even to tell others what God has thought us during the course of our lives. Hope that it'll serve as an inspiration to other sisters in Christ who may be going through the same thing.

Then again, Mad and Karen can make announcements using this blog. Hehe.
